NDIS SUPPORTED INDEPENDENT LIVING (SIL)

Supported Independent Living (SIL) provides 24/7 support in a shared living environment for participants who require ongoing assistance with daily living. Supports may include personal care, assistance with self-care activities, domestic assistance, skill development, life skills building, community access, and support for participants with higher care needs through 1:1 or shared supports.

Whether a participant prefers greater independence or the opportunity to build skills and social connections in a shared home, Care Alliance offers accommodation supports designed to promote safety, stability, and everyday independence. We provide SIL services across Newcastle.

NDIS INDEPENDENT LIVING OPTIONS (ILO) 

Independent Living Options (ILO) provide a flexible and individualised approach to living more independently in the community. Unlike traditional Supported Independent Living, ILO is designed around each participant’s goals, preferences, routines, and support needs.

We work alongside participants to design a living arrangement that is safe, sustainable, and tailored to their circumstances. This may include living alone with drop-in supports, living with a host or housemate, or building a support model around family and informal supports. ILO focuses on increasing choice, control, independence, and community participation.

Our team supports participants through each stage of the ILO process, including exploring options, designing supports, implementation, and ongoing review. We provide ILO services across Newcastle and the wider Hunter region.

NDIS SHORT TERM ACCOMMODATION (STA)

Short Term Accommodation (STA), including respite, provides participants with temporary accommodation and access to 24/7 support for short stays of up to 14 days. Supports may range from standard assistance through to higher care supports, depending on the participant’s individual needs.

STA provides participants with opportunities to build independence, experience new environments, access community activities, and maintain or develop daily living skills. It may also support transitions from out-of-home care or other living arrangements into more stable disability accommodation options where appropriate. We provide STA services across Newcastle and the wider Hunter region.
