At Care Alliance, our Equine and Nature-Assisted Psychology program offers a unique therapeutic approach for participants living with Complex PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, trauma-related mental health conditions, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other disabilities.
Delivered on a peaceful farm in the Hunter Valley, this service is facilitated by one of our experienced registered psychologists and grounded in trauma-informed, person-centred practice. In this calm and supportive natural environment, participants are supported to develop emotional regulation, self-awareness, confidence, resilience, and meaningful connection through structured therapeutic engagement with nature and animals.
Our therapy horses, Friday Sunshine and Zen Ed, play an important role in the therapeutic process through their calm presence and responsiveness, supporting participants to explore emotional experiences, strengthen coping strategies, and work towards meaningful growth and improved wellbeing.
This approach provides participants with meaningful therapeutic experiences that support capacity building, emotional wellbeing, and greater self-understanding in a safe, respectful, and supportive setting.
