How we build your support team
Your approved team
You choose who supports you. We only ever roster support workers from the team you have approved.
Every Care Alliance client has an approved team: the support workers you have said yes to. You are in control of who is on it, and we only ever roster from your approved team. That way you know the people who are turning up, and they are trained in how best to support you.
How a support worker joins your team
First, a call.
Our Rosters & Teams department calls you, or your representative, to discuss potential new team members.
If you approve, a shadow shift comes next.
When we are building your team, every new support worker does a shadow shift, and we pay for it. It is at our expense.
Then you decide.
After the shadow shift, our Rosters & Teams department calls you, or your representative, and asks whether you want that worker on your team. The answer can be yes or no, or we can provide more training first. There is never any pressure to have anyone on your team you do not like.
Only your approved team is rostered.
From then on, our rostering team only rosters support workers from your approved team: the team you chose. You only ever have the team you have approved.
Where your approved team applies
Your approved team is how we roster our support work. Whichever of these supports you use, the people who turn up come from the team you chose.

Questions about your approved team
Do I get a say in who supports me?
Yes, you decide. Every client has an approved team. Our Rosters & Teams department first calls you or your representative to discuss potential new team members. If you approve, the support worker does a shadow shift, at our expense. Rosters & Teams then calls again to ask whether you want that worker on your team. We only ever roster from your approved team.
Who pays for the shadow shift?
We do. When we are building your team, every new support worker does a shadow shift, and it is at our expense.
What if I do not want a support worker on my team?
Then they do not join it. After the shadow shift we ask whether you want that worker on your team, and the answer can be yes or no, or we can provide more training first. There is never any pressure to have anyone on your team you do not like.
Will you ever roster someone I have not approved?
No. Our rostering team only rosters support workers from your approved team: the team you chose. You only ever have the team you have approved.
Can a family member or representative decide for me?
Yes. Our Rosters & Teams department calls you or your representative, both to discuss potential new team members and, after the shadow shift, to ask whether that worker should join your team.
Which supports have an approved team?
Our support work: in-home support, community access, Supported Independent Living and high intensity supports. Whichever of these you use, the people on your roster come from the team you approved.
