Funding
iCare-funded support
Support work, psychology, therapy and nursing for people whose care is funded by iCare, across Newcastle and the Hunter.
As well as NDIS participants, we support people whose treatment and care is funded by iCare (Insurance and Care NSW). Our clients come to us through iCare Workers Care, Lifetime Care and CTP Care, for support work, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and nursing.
The iCare schemes our clients come through
Workers Care
Treatment and care for people severely injured at work in NSW, such as a brain or spinal cord injury, an amputation, severe burns or blindness, with an accepted workers compensation claim.
Lifetime Care
Treatment and care for people severely injured in a motor accident in NSW.
CTP Care
Treatment and care for people injured in a NSW motor accident who still need care years after the accident, under a CTP claim.
iCare decides who is eligible for each scheme and what it funds. See icare.nsw.gov.au for the details of your scheme.

Questions about iCare-funded support
Does Care Alliance support iCare clients?
Yes. As well as NDIS participants, we support people whose treatment and care is funded by iCare, through Workers Care, Lifetime Care and CTP Care.
Which services can iCare-funded clients use?
Our iCare-funded clients use support work (in-home support and community access), psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and nursing and high intensity supports. What iCare pays for depends on your scheme and on what iCare approves for you, so check with your iCare coordinator or case manager.
Do I need iCare's approval before starting?
Usually, yes. In each scheme iCare approves treatment and care before it starts. Our intake team will work with your iCare contact so that what we provide matches what has been approved.
Can I use iCare and NDIS funding at the same time?
It depends on your situation. iCare covers treatment and care related to your injury, and the NDIS generally does not fund supports that a compensation scheme is responsible for. Your iCare contact and the NDIS can tell you which applies, and our intake team can talk it through with you.
Where do you provide iCare-funded support?
Across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the wider Hunter, in your home, in the community and at our Charlestown clinic.
