By the end, you will be able to
- Explain how the bowel works and what healthy bowel function looks like.
- Recognise the signs, symptoms and causes of constipation.
- Identify what must be reported, seen by a Doctor or treated as an emergency.
- Support the diet, fluid, exercise and toilet habits that prevent constipation.
- Describe how an enema or suppository is given safely, when it must not be given, and how bowel function is recorded.
