By the end, you will be able to

  • Explain what PEG and PEJ tubes are and why a person may need one.
  • Follow the person's Support Plan and work within your role.
  • Carry out daily mouth, tube and stoma care, and recognise what is not normal.
  • Handle formula, position the person and flush the tube safely when giving feeds and medication.
  • Respond to blocked or dislodged tubes and medical complications, and escalate without delay.
