By the end, you will be able to
- Describe how the renal system makes, stores and releases urine.
- Identify the types of catheter and drainage bag, and position a bag correctly.
- Recognise the signs of complications, including autonomic dysreflexia, and respond or escalate immediately.
- Follow infection control when cleaning a catheter site.
- Empty, change and clean a urine drainage bag using the correct steps.
